Strategy games you can play at your own pace
I love strategy games, but I hate ones that punish you for not logging in on schedule. The best offline strategy titles let you think as long as you want and pick up exactly where you left off.
Frontier Foreman is a good example. It's a settlement builder where every choice has a visible consequence, and nothing is hidden behind a daily reward. You can plan a layout for ten minutes or ten days.
The joy here is the planning loop. Once the resource chains click, you start seeing three steps ahead, and a quiet evening disappears before you notice.
If you've bounced off mobile strategy because of timers, try the offline ones. They play like the PC games you remember.
